Film by David Lynch, 2006. This is my favorite film, not counting Twin Peaks: The Return. I recommend getting the original, non-upscaled version.

Freddie’s monologue. (Cf. also Letterboxd review above.) I’ve got this damn landlord: Presumably the landlord is Stanton’s character Carl in Twin Peaks. In S3E6, Carl, Bill, Linda and Richard all appear together. In Twin Peaks, Bill is missing; in Inland Empire, Nikki owes on an unpaid bill, which is related to Billy-Devon. “Couple bucks”: borrowing Nikki and Devon for their “roles” as Sue and Billy.

Axxon N. The longest-running radio play in history; note that from the crackle in the audio, we can tell when we are inside the play. Axon, part of the neuron. Axis, around which everything turns. Klaxon, a train horn, used when crossing (in both Inland Empire and Twin Peaks). “Action!” (Maybe also: The Axis powers. Axe, mentioned in Missing Pieces (also used for chopping wood, forestry, sawing, fire).)
